Manitobah X Here & There Magazine
There’s nothing quite like slipping on a pair of cozy boots on a cold day. For this very reason, Mukluks (an Aboriginal word for ‘winter boots’) have remained the footwear of choice for frosty climates.
Here & There Magazine first experienced the magic of mukluks after collaborating with Manitobah, an indigenous-owned company, on our Arctic Packing Guide. Our Tall Gatherer Mukluks had us traversing the tundra in style – staying warm every step of the way. We especially identified with Manitobah’s mission to support indigenous communities and work with local artisans. Even the soles are a canvas for stories; Manitobah often collaborates with indigenous artists who create custom illustrations that are rendered in high-performance rubber by Vibram. The company is distinctly Metis (known as “the flower beadwork people”) yet contemporary, and in turn, works to keep culture alive by incorporating traditional detailing into their boots.
With winter in full swing, we’ve partnered with Manitobah once again, and this time, we’ll be giving one lucky reader a $200 gift card to Manitobah’s online store!
